Build quality

Both of these versions are well built and the mount and internal mechanics are likely the same.
The difference is the exterior and which ver most would prefer will probably depend on the camera used.
A plastic SLR can go well with a plastic lens and vise versa.

However the plastic ver are somewhat plasticky but still well put together so the feel is still not too bad.
Metal ver has a bit nicer quality feel to it and could take a beating better.
This adds a little weight, but its only 35g.


Conclusion

Fine example of very good value for the money.
Both build and image quality are nice and a close comparison would be the Pentax-M 50mm f/2.

Wide open has a okay sharpness and is quite well corrected for a flat focal plane.
Stop it down a little and it is nice and sharp.
Bokeh looks mostly good but have also found it a little rough in a few cases.

Great lens for those that's looking for something cheap.
