Yashica Clearlook AF

Have found very little spec info on this camera.
So I mostly just know what can be read on the camera and test myself.

Specs:

Lens: 30mm
Closest Focus: 1.2m (3.9ft)
Aperture: Seems to be fixed at f/5.6
Shutter: ??
Leaf shutter
Light meter: yes (Iso 100 - 400 DX coded film)
Battery: Two AA 1.5v
Flash: Yes, built in only
Weight: 175g (without battery)

Self-timer
Auto focus and exposure

Takes 135 film
24×36 mm negative size

Viewfinder:

It's a great one that are big and bright.
But lack any info about focus so you don't know if your to close or not.
It do have a little red led light just to right on the viewfinder and this showed if the flash is ready.

Very plastic and toy like so this to have poor feel.

Conclusion

Well there is quite the good chance that a camera named Clearlook will probably not have much more than a good viewfinder.
This do however have a fixed 30mm lens, good size and lightweight so I thought it was worth a test.
But can't say that the camera give me any positive surprises.

Image quality goes from soft to very soft but still render fairly good.
Flare and backlight can be a big problem where you can lose a ton of contrast or get ugly flares.

Light meter works okay but AF system was a big hit or miss.
It gives no info if it found focus or if your to close so it's just to press the shutter and hope for the best.

The aperture seems to be a fixed one at f/5.6.
This works in most cases but the shutter can't always keep up in very bright light conditions.
Shots where I had the sun in frame got overexposed.

If you find this for next to nothing I would say you can still have some fun with this.

Thumbs up:
Viewfinder
Image render (exept in backlight)
Size and lightweight
Fast to work with

Thumbs down:
Image sharpness
Plastic / Feel
AF system and lack of info
Fixed aperture
